Some general info …
Old Iron Age forts and Roman Villas were the foundation for Bristol and in 1155 it was granted a Royal Charter to become a UK City. In the latter half of the 1300’s It became a county in its’ own right. Today it is the Capital of the southwest of the UK and yet very clean and green. There are two universities in Bristol.
Bristol’s industrial working docks have moved to the Severn estuary at Avonmouth in recent years. Where there used to be central dock areas there are now heritage and cultural centres for a green and clean UK City to enjoy as a result.
One can enjoy water taxis and/or tours in the harbour and to the dock yards. Theatres like Colston Hall and The Hippodrome have shows every night. It is advisable to pre-buy tickets to performances. You’ll never tire of things to see and do in a historic large city like Bristol.
