We have waved bye to Cornish events like Golowan festival in Penzance and the International Sea Shanty Festival in Falmouth. Fireworks in Penzance were spectacular and tail end of them can be viewed on our FB page.

Mevagissey has a week of Cornish festival now with lots of events and activities going on. Golroos at Perranporth kick off on Friday 29th June 2018. From July 4th Penzance Lit Fest is on. For more info on festivals and events in Cornwall check out

Cornish events summer is HERE!

After a splendid spring with superb weather in the main, summer has landed with us carrying on with great weather. We are basting in temperatures better than by the Med at the moment. Our beaches are full of sunbathers, swimmers and water sports groups. Ramblers populate the coastal paths by the droves. Ice creams and bottles of water are selling like hot cakes! Do be aware of water safety if you are swimming or rambling low in coves. Rip currents and very strong and tidal water can surprise you with it’s speed!

A traditional soft Mr Whippy style ice cream and cone with blue skies, sunshine, beach and clear seas in the distance. Day trips and tours with Alvajoan in Cornwall GB and you can try one of these or even clotted cream ice cream from local suppliers to your hearts delight! Cornish events.

Our recent photos to Facebook showing the Celtic Sea looking as good as south of France are awesome. One sandy beach locally was renamed ‘Costa del Marazion’ to everybody’s delight. Although seagulls can be frightfully annoying when you have something to eat, it is illegal to harm them. Keep your food safe when enjoyed al fresco.

During spring and summer our hedges and trees grow massively and narrow roads appear even narrower. With visiting friends to Cornwall, traffic can get very heavy during holiday seasons. Patience is a virtue and being able to reverse an absolute MUST. We do NOT have motorways in Cornwall and share our roads with tractors from local farmers.

Out and about with Alvajoan.

Bluebells are all but gone by now and hydrangeas are coming out in wonderful sharp colours. It is as if floral life celebrates the seasons and emphasise Cornish events and festivals like us.

In the summer I don’t need an alarm clock. Sunrise rays reach my eyes to the tune of birdsong before 5 am waking me up. Admiring the suns rays across Mounts Bay as it rises and glitters in the waters still gives me goosebumps.

Come and share Cornish events, festivals and other summer delights with Alvajoan.
